For reservations where a deposit is required, we advise restaurants to display a message in their booking calendar, which makes it clear that payment will be requested prior to dining. Restaurants will sometimes choose to do this for particularly busy periods or special occasions. This is put in place at the discretion of the restaurant, purely to secure bookings.
